Iowa is one of North America’s top
destinations for trophy whitetail deer hunting. Our hunts have produced
record book deer year after year.
One of the biggest reasons for our success is the strict management of
our properties with 140” minimums being the standard for all Iowa hunts.
We take groups of 4 for bow and 4 for gun in two different hunting zones
4 and 5. This insures personal attention being given in our quest for
that trophy animal our clients have paid hard earned dollars for.
Getting the Iowa tag is a draw process in which our clients will be
assisted on. I would have to say if I could hunt anywhere in North
America for a trophy whitetail it would be the state of Iowa hands down.
Iowa Whitetail Non Resident Draw Dates – Begins May 2nd 2009 and ends
June 1st 2009. Remember you need to apply for Zone 4 and or Zone 5 to
book this hunt. Also remember if you are unsuccessful in drawing the
Iowa tag you will be given a preference point and you need to consider
our Missouri hunt for this year until you get drawn next year. Missouri
is fast becoming a noted state for Boone and Crockett bucks and the tag
is across the counter. We also offer a comparable trophy whitetail hunt
in Missouri on the Iowa border. The Missouri hunts book quickly each
year so do not hesitate.
Long hours are spent each year planting food plots, placing stands ,
clearing shooting lanes and scouting our trophy properties all in
anticipation of our clients arrival and a very successful hunt. Our
trophy whitetail hunts are not conducted in a high fence and our animals
are hunted fair chase. Time in the stand along with proper scent control
are the keys to success. This hunt is for the trophy hunters desiring to
have a opportunity at a trophy between 140” and upwards of 200”. Yes , I
said 200”! 200” deer are taken every year in Iowa. Over the last 8 years
over 85 have been recorded along with over 750 bucks scoring 170” and
above. These numbers were collected by the Iowa DNR for records and does
not include non residents or those who have not had their buck scored
for placement in the Iowa Record Book. Just think of all the ones that
have not been scored. Iowa ranks number one in North America in the
states that taking of a record book animal is a very good possibility.
Not everyone will take a Boone and Crockett buck or may not even see one
in a lifetime but if you hunt in the best state and give yourself the
best opportunity then you always have a chance. You can’t kill something
that is not there. Believe me when I say they are here.
Our Iowa archery hunts are pre rut and rut. During the period of pre rut
and rut daytime activity is at an all time high and bucks really respond
to rattling and tending grunts. Combined with the use of decoys the
bucks that are cruising and cross checking trails in search of the does
tend to throw all caution to the wind. This allows our clients the best
opportunity for a good shot. We anticipate our clients will enjoy
upwards of 60% success rate on bucks 140 and above during this time
frame provided they take the steps necessary when hunting huge
whitetail. We will do everything possible in our power to ensure your
success.
All our whitetail hunts are 2x1 per guide basis. All hunts are 5 days in
duration. We will hunt stands strategically placed on trails to and from
bedding areas and food sources along with proven areas that produce year
after year. Several well known hunting personalities choose to make this
area in Iowa home and we know why. Trophy Whitetails are everywhere. The
Iowa tag is among the worlds most elite to draw and I must say when you
do you shall not be disappointed. We only take a select few each season
so book your hunt today or call for more information about this hunt.

*All hunts require a 140" (one hundred forty
inch) minimum.

We also know how
important it is for our clients to fill their tags in Iowa. Many would
say archery is the most elusive tag to fill. The bucks must move in
close within 50 yards to have a decent opportunity to take the trophy.
We have taken this into consideration for our archery clients and would
like to offer each one that books with us in Iowa or Missouri, that if
for some reason do not take a trophy or have the opportunity to get a
shot the option to return for late season archery for another shot.
Since you have already paid for the initial hunt if you choose to return
for another hunt during late season archery we will take you at a
reduced rate. This is for our archery clients only. Just another good
reason to book with us.
This hunt includes lodging , meals , field transportation, field care
and dressing of your animal. There are several taxidermist we recommend
should you choose to have your animal prepared in Iowa or for the trip
home. The area also has several butchers who will prepare your animal
and ship or pack and freeze for your trip home. There is a small fee if
they are backed up to move your animal up on the list to be prepared
sooner for your departure should you choose not to ship.
The best airports to fly into are MCI Kansas City Missouri or Des Moines
Iowa. With airfare costs rapidly falling now is the time to book your
flight. You should rent a car for the trip to our facility but if you
require a pickup we have to charge a extra $200.00 fee.
Our first class lodges are located near Leon, Iowa just off Interstate
35 and Exit 12 in southwest Iowa. Upon booking of this hunt you will be
contacted and complete confirmation of deposits along with directions to
the lodges and things to bring will be shipped to you along with phone
contacts for the lodges and your guide. We look forward to the
opportunity to earn your business for years to come along with creating
relationships and memories that will last a lifetime. Until then “ Good
Hunting and God Bless”.
